Frequently Asked Questions
What if I want a song not in your repertoire? Will you learn it?
Definitely. Many clients request specific songs. We charge $25 if we must order sheet music. Even if sheet music does not exist, we can quote you a price to write the music ourselves.
What do you wear?
Our typical attire is all black - either black dresses or black pants and blouse. If other dress is requested, we do our best to accommodate.
Do you require a retainer?
Yes. Retainers are approximately half of your event fee. They are non-refundable and non-transferable.
When is the balance due?
The balance is due two weeks before your event.
Do you travel?
Yes. We love traveling to events. There is no limit on distance we will travel.
Will you accompany my singer?
Absolutely - as long as he/she is a trained musician and comfortable performing after a brief rehearsal on the day of the wedding.
How do you coordinate the beginning and endings of songs?
Our processional music is carefully planned to come to a natural stopping place every 5-7 seconds so that the "end" of the song happens at the perfect moment. We take our cues from watching your bridal party and/or signals from your wedding coordinator.
Will you perform outside?
Yes. About half of our events are outdoor events.
Can you coordinate with other instruments?
Sure! Additional charges apply in some situations.
I want you to play the piano, but my venue doesn't have one. Do you bring one with you?
We have access to a rental keyboard for a fee. If you request this, we will bring the keyboard with us and set it up. A power source is necessary for use of the keyboard.
Will you keep playing for my cocktail hour or dinner after the ceremony is finished?
Yes - we charge an hourly fee per musician for music after the ceremony. We will play one hour while you finish photos - or for the entire reception!
