Hannah Spear
Lead Musician, violinist
Hannah, a native of Charlotte, NC, is currently a Senior at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro pursuing her Bachelor of Music in violin performance under Marjorie Bagley. Hannah has studied violin for over 15 years, and her past teachers include Dr. Ernest Pereira and Dr. Catharine Jackson. At UNCG, she has served as co-concertmaster and principal second of the University Symphony Orchestra, and has soloed multiple times with the UNCG sinfonia.
She is currently the assistant concertmaster of the Gate City Camerata, has performed with Casella Sinfonietta and is an active chamber musician. Hannah can also be found in the violin sections of the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra, the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra and the Greensboro Opera Orchestra.
She has spent past summers at The Quartet Program, Round Top Music Festival and Institute, and the Brevard Music Center, as well as teaching in Haiti.

During these summers, she studied with many of her heroes including Charles Castleman, Regis Pasquier, Stefan Milenkovich and Nancy Wu.
Recent notable masterclass opportunities have included performing for Pinchas Zuckerman and The Julliard Quartet. She has a passion for community music outreach and has taught violin lessons at Peck Elementary and the Salvation Army Boy and Girls Club of Greensboro as well as maintaining a private studio.
In her spare time, she enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time with her 6 younger siblings who are the coolest people she knows!
